A Little Goes A Long Way

The secret smiles
or stolen glances
from across the room
A quiet stroll
from class to class
A touch, a smile, a laugh
Only one of these things
I will need
to get through the day filled with
crowded hallways, stairs, and rooms
they say a little goes a long way
and they're right
a little smile can go a long way for me
When I'm upset, nervous, or full of fear
your smile shines light
into the window of my soul
filling me with love and light
a love to last a lifetime.

Ah school days. Things I can remember with both fondness and anger. It is not weird to write about things that have experienced in school, I haven't got round to writing about mine yet. May you be able to look back on your school days and smile (Report) Reply

A nice poem about what we all went through while in schools. It is still the order of the day in our work places. Lovely. Thanks for sharing and do keep it up. (Report) Reply

A poet's sensitivity for treasuring the little things and feeling them as the major blessings. That's beauty.: -) (Report) Reply
