A Lonely Shade Of Gray Poem by Captain Hook

A Lonely Shade Of Gray

I'm that mixture of light and dark you see everyday
I'm no longer a soldier but a man-of-war
I'm a tongue twister a loser to a tug-of-war
I'm the one and only seashell she sells by the shore
I'm no bright color I'm just a lonely shade of gray

You say your off your off to find yourself
To find your wings I hope you set soar
For you need me not a colorless kite dusty upon your shelf
My heart falls to pieces as you are oft to fly
One question remains as you leave the door

Why?
Why do you love him?
When he doesn't love you back
He never cared for you
My humble sky of blue
Just as the month ends we fall off track

The grass seems to die and sway
The roar of the wind grows louder with each roll
My heart begins to decay
It has finally taken its toll
Pieces of our life fall away
They never fit good for this month of may

We will forget We will forgive
Its often a charished aptitude as we live
I'm sorry to say
Im' sorry to say
That ring was not meant for your finger
He wanted your heart to not settle but to linger

These dull lifeless flowers
Cast a shadow of my hearts desire
Upon the ring of every hour
I guess this war is over now
I'm called back to my post to cease-fire

I'm that mixture of light and dark you see everyday
I'm no longer a soldier but a man-of-war
I'm a tongue twister a loser to a tug-of-war
I'm the one and only seashell she sells by the shore
I'm no bright color I'm just a lonely shade of gray

As you wished to 'hide' your calling at you Beautiful poetic thinking … And 60 years for the military ship approaching and excellent capacity … GO AHEAD! Best wishes…

Well Captain...well done indeed! Anyone who writes like that is certainly not a shade of grey, but all the colors of the rainbow...and shouldn't be lonely for long... HUgs, Dee
