A Love Poem(sorta)

when will i write a love poem?
iv been asked
guess i can draw upon feelings
from my past

but seems like everyone
writes those
so i'll try to write one
here it goes

i loved you
a long time ago
but its over now
dont you know

well not exactly a love poem
so ill try again
this time maybe i can write one
but isnt love a sin?

if not
it should be

trying once more
but love poems
seem like a bore

i might get it done today
so here is my love poem
and what i have to say

Violets are blue
Roses are red
I'll love you
Only after your dead!

Thank you for making a joke of the long array of love poems... What is love any way... a four letter word that is way over used...

Sandy, this a very interesting write. Humorous a little at first and the trying and trying to write this love poem. Perhaps one day to get it right, and even not, I think you have done quite well. An interesting ending....... (Report) Reply

by Robert Browning

Take the cloak from his face, and at first
Let the corpse do its worst!

How he lies in his rights of a man!
Death has done all death can.
