A Love Poem To My Cat Cleopatra Poem by John Thorkild Ellison

A Love Poem To My Cat Cleopatra

My little bundle of sensual delight
Sleeps on my bed through the vampire night
Giving the ghosts and the demons a fright
With her glittering eyes that shine so bright!

My little cat who knows me so well
And has rescued me from my loneliest hell,
A wizard of taste and sight and smell,
What tales do you expect a poor poet to tell?

I've got no tales of your feline power
When my world turned cold and its joys were sour,
You've been my companion in the darkest hour
As precious and beautiful as the loveliest flower!
