A tree it was
Majestically high
It towered above the others
A pillar of growth rare
Exhibiting its strength & vigor
For the admiration of others
Eclipsing all
To admire the rare feat
Of reaching the sky limit
And still growing- growing
When lo! A flash of lightning
Struck the wondrous tree
Beneath its roots
Uprooting the giant
That brought it
Crashing down
With a noise
That shook the earth
At the sudden collapse
Of a giant fallen
That would’ve risen
Still higher & higher
To a glory unheard of before.
