I know of a man not so insane,
Travelled along paths in his brain
That led him to the plainest plain
Where men are wild and wild beasts tame.
Not afraid, he befriended all
Preached his bible part and whole,
Brought light with the sharpest call
To wild men and tame animal.
He rode on to the mountain heights,
His words he hammered day and night
Till from highest nests birds took flight
In flocks they gathered to heed his plight.
His thirst for more conquests unquenched,
He embarked on a ship wholly drenched,
Spoke to young, old, noble and wretched;
His audience widened all arms stretched.
To hear the good words all creatures
Lent ears approving his lectures,
But none vowed follow his scriptures
Children they did tend and nurture.
At last weary and fully drained
He settled down in his swarming brain
Swore to himself with might and main
Never trust tame beast nor wild man.
