A Memory Of You In The Night Poem by Tracy Craighead

A Memory Of You In The Night

I see you shadowed in moonlight,
A halo surrounding your head
My back on the trampoline
Slightly damp but I don't care.
I'm not worried about the darkness.
The open air makes me want you....
To cover me, to shield me from
the unknown.... to keep me warm
safe, with your body on mine
Your skin wet but soft, your touch
Familiar and fun, anticipation
Shivering....from excitement,
Not from the breeze
Blowing through the trees
But from you gazing at me.
I see that look when I close my eyes
Deep in the night, alone
I can still feel you...on me
Near me, with me
But you are gone...
Not far...but away
The moments captured
In my mind continue....
They must.....stay

An elegantly romantic piece. Delicately and warmly portrayed. Thank you for sharing this personal piece which, I'm sure, will touch others as it has touched me.
