Life In Between Poem by Tracy Craighead

Life In Between

Rating: 5.0

I dance in the grey
I live in the black
But yearn for the white

Life is in the grey
Never entirely clear
We constantly search
For why we are here

Deep black can drown
And mutilate our days
Leaving us hoping
And longing...just
to get back to the grey

Heavenly White
God, please grant me
To live in this light
This love, this beauty
I don't want to look back
In fear That I will see
The grey hovering
catching up with me

Even in the white
I know I can't stay
It will mingle with black
And return to grey

It is a wonderful philosophical presentation. To me it seems howsoever we try our best to be one with everything around us, we are bound to get a set back on one account or the other. Thanks. I quote: Even in the white / I know I can't stay It will mingle with black / And return to grey

A beatiful poem with such depth. I am able to relate to this poet as I dance from dark and light and find myself in the grey. A poets true gift is to touch and give a voice to those who read her words. Thank you Tracy.
