A More Excellent Way Poem by Luke Easter

My nephew Brandle led me to part I of something he had to say,
I Corinthians 12: 31, Paul stated, I will show you a more excellent way,
No doubt that's definitely lacking in the world today,
And the reason why so many have wandered astray.

Jesus was the only perfect one refers to without sin,
That does not give us a license to quit before we begin,
Jeremiah 51: 27, set up a standard or signal in the land,
Don't settle for being a member be a leader of the band.

Quiet in the court room and no one dares an outburst,
Yet you talk amongst the pews while sitting in church,
Leviticus 26: 2, Keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary,
So you obey the judge but not the Lord that is downright scary.

Daniel 1: 4, without blemish, wisdom, discernment, knowledge,
A precursor to what is required regarding a Bible college?
Why do you call me, "Lord, Lord, " but not do what I say?
How do you think you'll ever learn, a more excellent way?

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind,
Was not a command from Jesus for Old Testament times,
There will be wars and rumors of wars we are seeing it today,
But that's because so many people have put love away.

Many of The Supreme Court rulings are decided 5 to 4,
And yet strange as it seems the Bible is interpreted more,
Deuteronomy 32: 39, God declares, "See now that I, I am He, "
So how do we get mother God, Buddha and Hail Mary?

Matthew 7: 13-14, scripture lets us know that narrow is the gate,
The only reason is because love has yet to conquer hate,
Wider is the road to perdition the longer you wait,
Love your neighbor as you love yourself before it becomes too late.
