A Mystery Of Life Poem by Franklin Spriggs

A Mystery Of Life

Rating: 5.0

A great mystery in life,
I guess I'll never understand,
How do you put a child,
In the body of a man?

We come into this life,
In a normal typical way,
We all start out as children,
Just wanting to laugh and play.

Our bodies grow bigger and bigger,
Unto adulthood we are bound,
The child is still within us,
But now, not to be found.

This child will never leave us,
It stays down thru the years,
The only way I know he's there,
I meet him thru my tears.

Yes, life is a big mystery,
Many things hard to understand,
But this thing I would like to know,
How you put a child, in the body of a man.

That same child within is he who is capable of true joy. Thanks for an interesting piece to read.

Franklin, Perhaps it is a learning process - involving the loss of innocence. But you are right - we never lose our childlike nature all together. Egal..
