A New Year's Rhyme
Before the pine needles begin to fall
Like steady droplets, before the tree
that stood in beauty and aromatic green
is casually stripped of its bright finery,
Before sad hearts with watery eyes
Holds one less of an irritating tear -
Pray that all of us may faithfully keep
At least one resolution the entire new year.
