A New Years Resolution - Poem by AliciaPilar Mogollon

my new years goal

is to always smile at children

i see on the street

the bus

the corner cafe

no matter their disposition

whether jolly or grumpy

or downright mad

and especially the ones

who peer out at me

with scorn

and especially

those next to a big person

who's countenance

reflects the same

and maybe just maybe

the child will

a smiling face.
