A Nigerian Poem by Naseeru Taneemu Annuree

A Nigerian

Rating: 4.5

I think it is easy to lost hope about my future
Especially when every God given opportunity to excel in every spheres of life was throwned, maimed, and finally strangled to dead!
I've spent my fair of sleepless night lying awake in bed wondering why THINGS FALL APART
And the answer I came to is as simple as it is true
Because thats how we want it to be.

Sure, I dreamed days and nights,
I dreamed for a bright future..... And yes, we probably going to re-write our names in gold
And erase indelibly the one we wrote with pen soaks in blood
Hatred and the strong penchant to undo one another.
I dreamed someday we would unite to shame the evil.
But when? How?
Now that our only opportunity to make it is already in the 'coffin' just waiting to be buried! !
