A Pair Of Blue Eyes Poem by shakil ahmed

A Pair Of Blue Eyes

A Pair of Blue Eyes

I loved a pair of blue eyes-
Eyes that furtively looked at my face
Enjoyed the warmth of long sighs
From a girl with elegant grace.

Her gesture, her posture, her blue eyes
Were unique gifts given by Almighty
She excelled Tess of the D’Urbervilles
In beauty, grace, devoutness and piety.

When she stood under the banyan tree
Far away from the baffling crowd
Her love was unbound and free
It couldn’t be covered by a shroud.

Oh my love, how she loved me so long
And in moments of trifle discord
She would rise up firm and strong
And shed penitential tears before God.

So long my love showered upon her
Not for a pair of blue eyes
But for a good heart and soul resided together
This is how my love I summarize.

Crossing across the dark space
I loved her nut-colored hair
Purple lips and rose flush face
All these haunted me together.

It was a warm and bright holiday
That I set sail on Love Sea
The blue eyed girl was jolly and gay
Walking with bright hair flapping free
