A Paradox Poem by DR KUSUMITA MUKHERJEE

A Paradox

A Paradox
- - Dr Kusumita Mukherjee
Who knew death could be so beautiful?
What a paradox!
Death and beautiful?
But yes
It was.

Separation could be so heartbreakingly mesmerizing.
Who knew?
The severing parts from the body
Unimaginably painful
But what I saw
Was a beautiful separation.

They came down in an orange shower
Blown down by the power of wind
Potent enough to snatch away the babe from the mother.
Yet that fall was so pretty
Wind shaken withered leaves
Swimming further and further away from the mothering tree.
