A Place For Scars Poem by Phil Soar

A Place For Scars

Strategically placed
These lines on my face
Don't tell the whole story
Of my life and it's glory
How the image explains
The scars that remain
And my effortless grimace
Means that I am not finished
When my heart skips a beat
Kncoking me off my feet
I just rise once again
And extinguish the pain
For my face tells the truth
About my mis-spent youth
I quite often think why
When I lay down and cry
Is it all because fate
Came a little too late
Either way when I think
It's all passed in a blink
Strategically placed
Life's scars on my face

Leave a trace
