A Poem For Light & Darkness Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

A Poem For Light & Darkness

Tears of the shadows when the moon turns white
Footprints in the sand faded within blowing winds
Fingers of time losing grip as life drown in pit of darkness
And when the fear comes,
Courage is the only religion of a heart

Chapters of thorny crowns,
Read by souls trapped in the devil's cells
It is the sun crying for their freedom
As the shackles melt,
It's pieces of the soul to turn to ashes
Dark clouds linger;
Over heads with face covered with painful frowns

Tides of angry seas
Sharks ferocious beneath
It is dark thoughts brewed from within
Streams flowing on streets, are bloodied
Heaven is in a distance as sheep die in silence
And when the fear conquers,
Souls remain grounded
In broken wings with no hope of kissing the skies again

Beauty of nature died in hands of the mortal
Words like these, had many sent to graves
For, mortal would kill for its flaws to remain secret
To save the ego which defy what created it

Blinding light had heaven misplaced
When darkness ruled, blood never flowed
It's a truth which voices of time would never tell
But when the light reigned,
What is declared a sin, escalated
Speaking mouth of the messiahs were left tongueless
