I'm writing you this poem
'Cause I'm wishing you were near
To save me from my pointless live
And remind me why I dare breath
As I look at my surroundings
And notice the objects I call parents
My mind wonders to stainless steel steak knives
Waiting unguarded in the dark kitchen
But even though you're not by my side
Your love is my bodyguard
It keeps me calm while I wait
To find myself in your arms again
