A Poets Life [nice And Slow] Poem by alan brown

A Poets Life [nice And Slow]

Rating: 0.5

I write my words of love and woe
To try and capture you,
but no
I write a line
I write a sonnet
That you might read
leaving your meaning on it

I write of death
and tales of fame
But never give the caricatures name
I leave the meaning up to you
And with your quick whit
you make your view
So when I'am sitting here alone
Please read my work
It's just a poem.

A story I tell of distant love
or sometimes praise the lord above.
They are only words
so don't feel hurt
If I get close to your heart
in one quick spurt.
And if to your eye
a tear I bring.
Open up your heart
and let us sing

A happy mind is a happy fellow
making life so good
making life so mellow
So remember this before you go
A poets life is nice and slow.

I like the lines, If I get close to your heart in one quick spurt. because reading a poem in one or two minutes can take your heart and mind to new places for a little while.
