A Present Poem by Chris Townsend

A Present

Shhhh child the world still spins,
All that is now, is already to begin,
To see the wondrous world of it all,
To listen very carefully, two lover's call,
Within this coldness a spark of light,
A young woman's torment, her bittered fight,
To see things, which affect only her,
To give her inspiration, to strike a spur,
To tell her, there's hope for her to see,
To show her, there are others, not disimilar to me,
To hopefully to give, to show her I care,
To say to her, dry those lonely tears,
I have so little, not much to give,
But I have a soul, this life to live,
If this inpsires, if this is a gift,
To take all your problems, this pressure to lift,
If you have no place, no where to go,
This message I give, something I want you to know,
I cry my bittered tears, so you may not,
If I can help you, my pleasure you have got,
In this embittered planet, in this hell,
To hold you tightly, open door to cell,
To let you be free, to see a smile,
For that pleasure, for me many a mile,
If I can empower, one soul in this time,
Then this, my love, for you my rhyme...
