We live in mental caves
Looking for exits,
Our Lives
Are very strange
We control, nothing!
Nor are we able.
To defend
The little privacy
That life can lend
To us and those
So few and well
Intentioned men,
Also attacked
As if they were
No more than
Public property.
It's looking for those little nuggets of gold that are whispered in that still small voice of calm that can be uplifting but rare. The ‘I love you' that you never hear.
Our freedom has been eroded by the people whom we have given our trust to rule. So sad that these public servants are the ones being served and protected by their constituents. A well expressed and strongly felt poem.
A profound and realistic perspective on the peculiarities of human existence and experiences. Top marks!
Good people would be attacked always by the bad. Very good poem.

Very power opening, this lovely poem. " We live in mental caves Looking for exits, "… and more: 'we control nothing'
