'' A Resurrection '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' A Resurrection ''

This Covid I've got,
It's now in the past,
I don't talk rot,
I gave it a blast,
Don't ask of what,
My future is cast,
I'm once again up for selection.

It's all in your head,
A bit like a curse,
Don't be afraid,
The flu is worse,
It has to be said,
I don't need a nurse,
It is but a minor infection.

Thousands have died,
They do every year,
I'm not being snide,
There's nothing to fear,
With God on my side,
I'll always be here,
Prepare for my re-election.

I put on a show,
Twas a glorious return,
I felt aglow,
Didn't your stomach churn?
Make it two in a row,
My efforts don't spurn,
I detect signs of insurrection.

It hurts to the core,
You may feel regret,
What I've done before,
You've now to forget,
I just want four more,
I'm not a threat,
I'm loved by all with affection.

They're dropping like flies,
Saying I'm a clown,
I pray no-one dies,
It would bring on a frown,
With Covid on the rise,
It's White House down,
What I need is,
