A Sad African Tale Poem by emmanuel akor

A Sad African Tale

born with no silver spoon in my mouth
and cried in the dark with no light
not even the moon to brighten that night
a candle light with insects to welcome my sight
grew with nobody to erase me of my plight
this was nothing that i could fight
maybe i could if i had zeus might

if i had wings like a tori
i would fly like a kite
out of my pain and misery
nothing to smile at
my face always scary
my life has been such a sad story
i only hope to see God's glory
