A Sin Story....... Poem by RIC BASTASA

the middle aged man
had sinned, and he kept all his sins
hidden inside your mouth, and
to keep the peace, and maintain the
much needed silence, much money
had to be paid to the gods
who knows how to make the mouths
shut.

inside that door is the tongue
who savors the taste of money.
beyond it is the trachea, which
serves as the tunnel to the way
to the bowels.

out there, it is where the foul
odor stinks, and safe as it is,
inside the septic tank, everyone
there are blind as to the culprit
of this sin story.
