A Solider Poem by Dennis Walker

A Solider

I gave my soul to the army
It was more to me than just pay
Defending our rights and our country
I am a patriot you could say
I will go were my leaders tell me
And fight both night and day
With honor and dignity do my duty
Knowing I will be home some day
I don’t always have to agree
With what we are told to do
But I made a vow to my country
I would always follow it through
Though I may be killed in some far off land
And my body brought home with grace
And they lay me under the ground
Just look on and say” our country’s enemies he did face”! ! ! ! !
