A solitary lighthouse abides by the sea so majestic & oh! so true,
A stronghold for vessels sailing out on the rough waters of the misty blue;
While sounding an alarm to keep sailors from their plight;
And guiding their passage with it's glowing safety of light,
So statuesque beholding tales of woe & liberty,
Always portraying a sense of serenity;
While standing lofty in all it's grandeur & representing a lifetime of relief;
As it reaches out to the tragedy of lost souls; while giving some peace & hope to their grief,
Even lovers find romance atop it's stately silence;
While feeling the miracle of it's steadfast resilence.

Thanks for this beautiful poem. Lighthouses have always been a favorite image/symbol of mine. Maybe on some level I feel that I always need saving? (smile)

Oh such a lovely poem I thought of our Lord as that light house and the safety of his light.
