A Song To The Lord Poem by Mark (Owen) Williams

A Song To The Lord

Who is this living Lord, a God who became man and shed his blood for me?
Who is this living Lord, who took my burden sin so I too could be free?

The creator of the world and father to us all, I’m captured in his grace.
Whoever comes to him with hearts of open joy, will feel his strong embrace.

We cannot pay the debt the Lord has now expunged, nor should we even try.
He is our shepherd guide who gives our journey hope, in him believers lie.

His majestic power saves within his righteousness – his grace a gift to all.
Armed with the cross of Christ, pure sacrifice for sin, for us to hear his call.

Deep in the hearts of men, he is our very life, our soul doth surely sing.
In Christ we all are saints, his judgement always true our mighty servant King.

He is the potter’s hand and we his humble clay – his will and love we trust.
His death it does complete, our burden he did bare ascension through the dust.

For no amount of works will ever be enough to combat sin each day.
From God a bell does ring, salvation and rebirth redeemed in Christ we pray.

To keep our faithfulness, to be more like our Christ it is our meaning way.
To sing praise to the Lord, to sanctify his might forever and a day.

To him all things are known all wisdom does contain, a beacon in the night.
To guide me past the rocks I hold salvation’s shield – it leads me to the light.

The Holy Ghost of hosts knows all of what was said and bathes my very soul.
For in my heart I find my Lord he hears me speak, accomplishing his goal.

A trinity of hope, creator redeemed son who conquered Satan’s power.
Enduring lamb divine, he hears my poor soul cry for faiths appointed hour.

His laws are in us writ, to love the Lord our God and love our fellow man.
Enjoy the peace within, transcending Earthly gifts, fulfil our saviour’s plan.

For the lion and the wolf, a leopard with a kid will see his Kingdom come.
The snake will harm no more, led by a lamb and child, his glory now is done.
