A Special Someone Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

A Special Someone

Moving with the flow of strangers
Barely noticing you from afar
Swept into a channel by an undertow
Surfacing and finding that you are near

Cast upon a shore of sand and peril
Close to the edge of today and tomorrow
With extended arms, touching fingertips
Bridging an unknown space that narrows

Rising from our knees and gazing at the sun
Welcoming simultaneous smiles of pleasure
All shadows that spoil dreams... fade away
as trust crystalizes into a reassuring treasure
