A stab in the back
Can be done by anyone
Watch all of your friends
When they're having fun
I got stabbed in the back
By my best friend
She ditched me and even forgot I existed
I'm not letting that friendship mend
She took me for granted
And gave me nothing in my life
But now, at least without her
I can't again get stabbed by that knife
She thinks she's the best
She's really not though
I'm not gonna retaliate
I'm not stooping that low
Well, I've moved on and got new friends
I don't hang around
I wasn't gonna linger on it
I hope she's proud
I had the same experience when I was in high school; I only wish I was mature and creative enough to write a poem about it! And for what it's worth, I learned a lot about friendship because of it.
Hi Becky, really liked your poem. It's good to see you're not bottling your emotions up, but putting them down for everyone to see like this takes alot of courage. Keep up the good work, I'd love to read more of your stuff. Respect, JB

Me too, Lori! I wish I could have written a poem like this at 14 (or at 24, come to think of it..) .Yup, respect..
