A Stayer Is A Horse

Rating: 5.0

A rhymster-playwright failure
in old Australia

(not as far back as Shakespeare,
but well before the Wars)

played with 'wait'
as both 'attend on' and 'stay'.

He had a diner in a play
summon 'Stayer! ' not 'Waiter! '

and, for the slight,
get sprayed from a bottle of sauce.
