A Strand Of Silk Poem by Charles Sammons

A Strand Of Silk

Rating: 5.0

Gathering in the corner of the eye
they gain weight
gravity no longer forgives
a very special song
we sing it at our first light
never the last
and no two alike
a gentle rain
dragging across the skin
a cut within
slowly at first
picking up flakes of flesh
floating in a Saltin Sea
designed to draw the pain away
to sooth the heart
cleansing aches
like lead they fall
a shiny beacon
they know what's best for you
a bath to cool the fire
a taste of wet at the lips
a strand of silk
