A Strange Life Poem by Roman Nikolaev

A Strange Life

Rating: 5.0

I cannot understand what is happening here…
When I wake up the sin of humanity calls me,
And I turn on my Macintosh to take a bite out of the apple,
And the snake with the burning eyes on the horizon…

I cannot sing morality just as they wish to sing it
Their teeth flashing softly with the bright new enamel
The strong essence of good seemed to show up in my pledge -
But what good is the thing if the snakes still prevail?
