You pretend it's a compliment
Everyone turns expecting a Thanks
But I can't say a word
I feel lost and humilliated
Does your comment mean I'm
Inhuman every other ordinary
Day
Does it mean I'm not pretty
Does it mean I'm hopeless
Could it mean your trying to
Pretend
As though you have a heart
Does it mean you actually care
Or was it just another accidental
Break where you truely
Don't understand a single
Word you say
As I shift into reality and see
Everyone staring back at me
Waiting for my simple Thanks
I can no longer think or speak
And you never get your 'Thanks'

Hi Gee, keep your heart pouring and your honesty above all. We can't change others, neither their opinion, way of expression or thoughts, but we can demand respect and care for ourselves and others. I can relate to this poem as for I always loved better compliments from a heart to another than superficial ones. Truth is, compliments just inflate the Ego, constructive criticism helps us to grow as better humans.

I got it what you are trying to say is if you don't have anything nice to say don't say at all
