A Summer Of Deceit Poem by Tiger Lily Love

A Summer Of Deceit

It was a summer like no other
Full of feelings seemingly shared
But when it came to its ends
I was left wondering if you ever cared

The days felt hot like the sun
The nights were warm ad starry eyed
But the best part of it all
Was having you by my side

Then came the chilly fall doubt
When the truth finally came out

And just like the dying leaves
I watched our love plummet to the ground
I felt everything inside me start to shatter
Yet no one ever heard the sound

It wasn't a summer of love
But one full of deceit
And I imagine everyone else knew this
The only person you fooled was me
