A Symphony Of Sweets Poem by Richard Blanch

A Symphony Of Sweets

The principle of living lies in sweet soft edibility,
The almond-honey heartbreak of panforte’s firm nobility,
The shrill alluring coconut-ice of lips’ and tongues’ duplicity,
The relish of a sugared breast, the rising electricity
Of squirmng gulab-jamuns, white rasgullah’s loud scurrility,
Smooth dark hair strung in bitter choc’late unavailability,
Fountains of angelica, of cream, of jellied jollity,
Love’s hills and sudden valleys of cinnamon pellucidity
Ah! sip the syrup pudding of true friendship, fallibility
May follow with the coolness of an ice cream affability.
Try sweet, try tart, roll in the lap of moist bonbon fluidity.
Meticulous enticement! Sup full, lick life’s possibility!
