A Tad Poem by Jim Boone

A Tad

The loftiest emotions
I've experienced
in awhile

were just a tad above
the light
from your eyes
and your smile.

From the barroom
and the moonlight
that shines
across the tracks
we journeyed to a place
where the mustangs
drink and relax.

Emotions grew
a tad stronger
than this mighty herd
as we made love
under the stars
without uttering a word.

With no past
and no future,
moments were all
we ever had
fleeting and electric
will I miss them?
Yes, a tad.
