A Tale To Tell Poem by Michael P. Johnson

A Tale To Tell

A TALE TO TELL
My life was filth, full foolish doubt
So empty deep inside
Until in truth I turned about
And saw love magnified

Now truly blessed, I'll share my tale
How bound I was within
How Jesus came to pay my bail
And free me of my sin

In shame my God to You I came
Kneeling before Your throne
You gave to me Your precious Flame
And claimed me as Your own

It seemed by chance; I heard Your name
Lucky to join the few
But You are God! And when You came
The choice was made by You

You taught me how to walk Your way
In Christ it felt so good
I fear no more Your judgement day
Now washed within Your blood

For Satan's wares I'd always thirst
Few sins I failed to do
It may have been that I was cursed
But now I'm blessed by You

You gave me robes of brilliant white
You filled my cup with dew
I drank my fill of Liquid Light
Receiving life anew

Within Your Flame I've second birth
Salvation, through Your Son
When Jesus comes to burn the earth
My chaff! Will all have gone
