A Teddy Bear's Promise Poem by Kewayne Wadley

A Teddy Bear's Promise

Hold me close I'll never leave your side
I'll be there when you need me most
Don't worry about the night
Tucked in, left alone in a room full of darkness
The scary shadows that present themselves reaching towards you
You'll never have to fret as I'll protect you.
Although small, I'll watch over you while your asleep.
I don't mind the wrinkles in my fur as it's my purpose
The comfort of laying beside the one you love
without regard for anything else but their comfort.
The times your gone I'll sleep and wait until your return
I know it won't be long.
The joy of being held in times of need, the base of every smile
every hug
snuggled warm in blankets, wool pajamas
Soon I know there comes a time to put all childish things away
Including fears
But before you pack me away in a box never to be seen again
Promise you'll remember me just as I'm sure to never forget you
