A Thousand Thoughts Poem by Sam Fischer

A Thousand Thoughts

Rating: 5.0

Don't go making promises you can't keep,
I said it, I told you that,
But still you did, and broke it,
Making me feel like a prat,
I'm sat here thinking,
What you're doing, I'm wondering where you are,
But you're not thinking about me,
I need to raise my bar,

I can do better,
Find someone who wants me,
I need an equal share,
In what is supposed to be a joyous thing,
I want a partner who cares,
Not you who can never tell me,
What you're thinking or feeling,
Or even if you're ever getting better,
Beginning the process of healing,

Every morning, as I open my eyes,
You are in my thoughts,
And as I go to sleep at night,
You're there, it's like a sport,
I want to be over your sweet embrace,
Pretending I don't care,
But the one thing I really mean is,
I love you, though it's not shared.
