A Timid Girl Poem by shakil ahmed

A Timid Girl

Rating: 4.0

A TIMID GIRL

The sky was covered with the shroud of cloud
There were howling wind and driving rain
Nothing could be seen far and near
I longed for her but in vain.

I remembered her soft words that were told
Walking hand in hand through the dingy lane
All her promises were broken into pieces
Her dreadful silence gave me much pain.

Beneath the shade of old banyan tree
I passionately loved that cute girl
When the wind was murmuring a tune
I silently loved her auburn curl

A timid girl with pleasing looks
Gave me untold misery and pain
My heart was torn apart
I could not bear such utter disdain.

Still I long to see that hidden face
Though people call me out of race
When in life love becomes dry
We have no other option but to cry.
