A Wish



i like to see stars tonight
at ten in the evening when the
rest of the world are asleep,

i wish and think hard enough
invoking the belief that the mind
can always manage to work things
out with the heart,

there are no stars
the dark clouds are here
and then it rains

i listen to the sound of the rain
i am not anymore running
