A Word Of Encouragement Poem by Katherine Perry

A Word Of Encouragement

Oh how words can affect a child so
From one extreme to the other
But it's words of encouragement
that helps a child grow
Especially from their father and mother

Some children are raised with doubt
Constantly told they won't amount to
anything in life
Which eventually pushes all of their
confidence out
Losing hope of a promising future in sight

That in which a child needs desperately
the most
Is to know his parents are proud and pleased
For if every child could have at least one
reason to boast
It will lead them into planting the right seeds

Encouragement can change a person's life forever
For it builds you and makes you strong
Even if you were to fail on all your life's
endeavors
Encouragement still last your whole life long

But what can build you up can break you down
Like growing up with no encouragement at all
You start to feel lost, like you don't belong
Left to move forward in a life feeling small

Like someone thats beaten down to the ground
On every attempt of trying to get up
You learn the beatings stop if you stay down
Living with fear in a world thats corrupt

So encourage a child all that you can
And with that what is said to be found
Is that a child with confidence that knows he
can
Is a person that stands on solid ground!
