When | you look at me...
...here's what I see:
a world without hate,
a world without fear,
a world without hunger and sickness and sin.
a world full of love,
a world full of cheer,
a world full of plenty and healing and joy.
When | God looks at us...
...here's what He sees:
a world stained with bad,
a world stained with wrong,
a world stained with blood debt of many a man.
a world filled with filth,
a world filled with soot,
yet a world saved by naught but the blood of Jesus.
interesting approach here, landrey-I really like it (the 'pause' thing also mixes it up... very nice) ! A reminder of what the sinfulness of mankind w/out Christ looks like to God. Overall, great poem. I want to see that final edition when it's ready!
fyi the | between the when and you and when and God is a slash not the word/letter 'I' it's simply there to cause the reader to pause. also these verses are completely disconnected. I like the first one a lot and the second one too but I may just have to come back and do some more with the 2nd, maybe write a verse inbetween. thanks for reading, folks. -landrey
