A World Poem by D A Phinney

A World

A world have I to conquer!
For my mind is straight
Mind the running chalk-
The world's a slate!
Clock! tick on before me
Run the course!
The world is but a cart-
And I the horse!
Rain! beat down upon me
I'll not flee-
I alone! am river-
The world's but sea-
For my mind is straight-
And e're I come undone-
A world I have to conquer!
But... which one... which one?

In our world of staggering and stumbling, searching for WHAT...how beautifully expressed that search, the longing, the needing. Love this, so well done.
