About A Girl Poem by Poppi Sykes

About A Girl

She pleaded she was different
I hoped she was straight

LGBT was what you'd advocate
But I knew you wanted a debate

I didn't know whether I liked you
I barely associated you as a mate

We were in the same reg
I was always late
But at least this was my trait
You made yourself bait
After clearing the plate

I couldn't wait
Until you turned straight

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The main reason to why I wrote this was after I spoke to an old friend from school saying that this girls had started to hang out with these boys in school so that she could get with their mate(who is Boy)and now she is dating/in a relationship with this boy - it goes against her original belief of being so gay. This news gave me inspiration because I always secretly hoped she was actually straight just because she set herself up so well after bragging about how she id different because she is lesbian.
