The air is calm, I feel no breeze,
to stir the trees, now bared of leaves.
There is no sun, the clouds are grey,
I know not joy; you've gone away.
Silence hangs heavy, lacking sounds,
no sign the world with life abounds.
The birds are hushed, the river stilled;
my Soul with deepest sadness filled.
Calling your name, no one replies;
seeking an answer - grief denies!
There's no respite, time wastes away:
for Love that's lost: the price to pay?
The empty chair, how to explain
the table laid, that waits in vain?
No answers found: no reasons why
it was thought timely you should die?
When memories of shared loving years
flood in, I cannot stem my bitter tears:
cruel Fate having tom my life apart,
leaves me with a grieving, broken heart.
But though I mourn you one known so well,
still your Spirit lives, that once did dwell
therein, and will guide me through each day.
Stronger in absentia, Love finds a way!
