Across He Crossed Poem by Dorsey Baker

Across He Crossed

As he was trying to cross across
the river bridge
he felt weightless
like a feather about to be blown
away by the wind
He did not want to cross across
the river
The river was fear and its imprisonment
Because the river was so dark
He could not see a clear impression of himself
He was hoping and praying that no one was
aware that he was trying to cross across
He did not tell anyone
As he was crossing he felt a weakness
a weakness he never knew he had
which made the crossing more difficult
than it would have otherwise have been
The weakness was fear and it was trying
to imprison him in self-doubt!
Denying the fear and refusing the imprisonment
Across he crossed!
