Adamantine Faith - A Buddhist Sonnet Poem by Richard St. Clair

Adamantine Faith - A Buddhist Sonnet

Ten years ago I heard it in my heart,
Assuring me salvation is assured
After all the evil karma I've endured;
Soon to the Pure Land I'll with joy depart.
Amida, greatest Buddha of them all,
Is worshiped everywhere by each Nyorai
As They perceive Him through their Wisdom Eye,
While urging all to answer His Great Call.
I'm firmly grasping with my hand His Sleeve,
When in the Pure Land surely I will meet—
And as I kneel before His Lotus Seat—
Amida Buddha: me He will receive.
This Teaching, pure and simple, is the best:
To don the Dharma Robe and thus be blessed.
