Adieu Our Beloved Umar Poem by Amin Ilelah

Adieu Our Beloved Umar

Is death! the final black clapper of life,
those who fear it die most...?

Some time I sit and wonder
If life is a meander

Life begins in the womb
ends only where Allah know

One comes to this world
crying in sorrow

And leave this earth wailing
for the fear of trying

One reaches the certain
When others remain uncertain

If our life should be tamed
Death shouldn't be blamed

If it is only the lonely
that die slowly

The loved ones never
will they live forever

Now that we have to pay
the price of life we play

BAYEES, it was in the night
Babayi, slain you were on the road

Destituted were your colleagues
On that road carnage

When it happened you uttered Kalimah
Before you slumbed is La-ilaha Illallah...!

I'd have been on that edge
if I was in the village

Bibba, is in awful sorrow
Khalifa, will never know till tomorrow

Whilst your parents mourn
and your friends in forlorn

With your spirit up there
Striving hard we're here

It's only the portitude haven
To bear the irreferable taken

A place for your coming brethren
Adieu our beloved UMAR!
