After It All Poem by ART PAUL SCHLOSSER

After It All

Friends call
Excitement and all
They want to dance
Maybe romance
But at the end of the day
When they go away
The parties over
You didn't get rich
Or find a 4 leaf cover
Or perhaps you're hitched
To someone that's a rover

I mean
When your dreams
Are broken at the seems
No one really cares in the end
It's then my friend
You have to wake up and realize
That nothing really satisfies
Like the Lord
And no matter how rich you are
Without Jesus you're are spiritually poor

I mean the trophies and the achievements
Everything that makes you so confident
The biggest house
The brightest gem
She's with you
Your with them
The prettiest spouse
The greatest tasting ham
Your name in lights
Above everyone
You'll still be empty
Without God's son

And it's not church
Or holy work
Professing his name
Or following him that you claim
But rather a real relationship
From God's fountain you must sipSo if you want to do your best
Take time with the lord and rest
